Great interview! Laura Kriska is always an engaging speaker - (As a communications college professor-I even use her Ted Talk in a Public Speaking class). Laura is also a gifted author with perhaps one of the most important messages for our times!
This is an engaging and timely book that takes on the "Them" culture of outmoded business models and presents the "We" model of inclusivity and respect. A great read for boss and employee alike.
I have read this book and it detailed clear examples of how diversified perspectives and experiences can only add value, and why it should be every company’s goal to learn from them rather than fear them. Thank you for helping leaders identify US/WE vs THEM-isms, which is the first step in putting those varying perspectives to work for the better.
Human connection is the nervous system that binds us all, culture, religion, class and economics inclusive. Kudos to Laura Kriska and thanks to Packer & VanBavel for their work cultivating empathy, humility, understanding (and humor) as we all muddle through our lives.
In my business I'm interacting with people from all over the globe. Finding some connection can make all the difference in how successful (and enjoyable) our work together can be. Kriska seems to be speaking directly to me when she talks about not being sure what to do and the fear of saying the wrong thing holding us back. I'm looking forward to reading her book now for some tools to help with this.
This is a great read that offers simple, actionable solutions that can be applied in many aspects of our lives to promote community and team-building. Highly recommend and glad you are highlighting the book!
I love how applicable Ms. Kriska's ideas are to so many aspects of life — not just corporate culture. As a teacher, I'm always looking for ways to close those "us versus them" gaps so that our children grow up to be better communicators and facilitators of a more just world. Kriska's clear, concise message is welcomed one for both educators and business leaders.
Thank you for highlighting The Business of WE and the hopeful message that WE-building offers. Taking action to close US versus THEM gaps can make the world safer, more welcoming and productive.
The Business of We is a practical and powerful book full of engaging stories and useful techniques to change negative and destructive attitudes in business and in other areas of life. S

A fresh and relevant take on an age-old dilemma.

I appreciate Dominic and Jay spotlighting this important work. It seems more relevant and urgent with every passing month.

If I were a cross cultural miscommunication I would be terrified of Ms. Kriska
