We are delighted to announce that our first book, The Power of Us, will be published on September 7 by Little, Brown Spark!
The world contains about 8 billion people, but many more identities. As Walt Whitman noted: each of us contains multitudes. And as different of our identities come in and out of focus, or new ones are formed, they change how we think, feel, and act.
At the heart of our book is the fundamental idea that understanding how identity works allows people to take control, moving beyond wondering, “Who am I?” to answer instead, “Who do I want to be?”
The Power of Us draws on research we love in psychology, economics, political science, and neuroscience to explain how identity really works and how it can be harnessed to boost cooperation and productivity, overcome bias, escape from echo chambers, break political gridlock, foster dissent and mobilize for change, lead effectively, and galvanize action to address persistent problems.
